Morning Session
Mary Giesler, will help you navigate through the continuing effects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The morning session will bring you up-to-date on important tax and industry changes that will impact you and your practice.

Mary P Giesler, EA, ATP
Upon graduation from Mexico High School in 1976, Mary attended William Woods College (now it is William Woods University). She graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minors in both Business and Chemistry. Mary married Doug Giesler, a native of Mexico, in 1981. They have 4 children, Lee 35, Lauren 32, Jordan 30 and Freddy 24. Doug & Mary reside in Overland Park where she owns and operates MPG Accounting. She has operated MPG Accounting for 39 years and currently serves over 475 clients annually. Mary is an enrolled agent. She is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and served as President of the Kansas Chapter of NATP for 3 years. In 2010, she became a certified chapter instructor and has been assisting with teaching individual topics for the KS Chapter seminars. During 2019 she began teaching for Drake Software Sales. In addition, Mary is a member of National Association of Enrolled Agents and has achieved the status of a NTPI Fellow.

Maggie Jones will walk you through all that’s new in Drake Tax for tax year 2021, including software and data entry enhancements, new features, and more.

Maggie Jones
Maggie Jones is the Sales Dealer for Drake Software in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. She has over 27 years of experience working with Drake Software. Maggie had her own tax practice for a number of years before selling it and moving back to her home state of Arkansas to focus full time on selling Drake Software. She does still prepare a few returns. She has been instructing how to use the program since her career began with Drake as a sales dealer over 24 years ago. Maggie has also spoken
at various IRS and State events over the years about practice management and tax software. Maggie is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University

 The cost of the Update School is $159 per attendee for those who register before September 30th, 2021, 5 pm; $199 for those who register after September 30th, 2021, 5 pm; $179 for each additional attendee after September 30th, 2021, 5 pm.

What is the cost?

The cost of the Update School is $159 per attendee for those who register on or by September 30, 2021 at 5 pm. After September 30th at 5 pm, the cost is $199 for the first attendee and for each additional attendee or proctored attendee, $179.

What meals are included in my registration for Group Live/In Person?
Lunch is from 12pm – 1pm for Group Live/In Person. If you would like to have a guest join you for the scheduled meal, please sign them up as a “Meal Only” guest when you register. The cost for a Meal-Only guest is $49. Please note, it is not appropriate to allow family members to take food or drinks from any scheduled breaks, unless they are a “Meal Only” guest.

Can you accommodate special needs, such as handicap seating or a vegetarian lunch?
Yes, but please indicate your needs when you submit your registration. We have handicap seating areas reserved at each school. If you indicate a need for a vegetarian or gluten-free meal during registration, your name tag indicates this, but you are responsible for showing your name tag to your server during lunch.

After registering, what details will my confirmation email include?
Once your registration is processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your school schedule details, and the cancellation and inclement weather policies.

What if I do not receive a confirmation email?

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellation Policy for Group Live (In-person)
Janes, Inc., Drake Software Dealer Sales will make a full refund if received within 72 hours of the start of the Update School. Registrants who are “no shows” for the Live Update School will not qualify for a refund. Refund requests must be sent to Info@drakesoftwaresales.com. In the event of a cancellation of an Update School, we will notify all participants at the email they registered with when signing up for the event of the cancellation. We also will post the cancellation on our website, https://DrakeSoftwareSales.com and remove the ability to register for the
event from our website.

Inclement Weather Policy
In case of snow or other potentially hazardous weather or emergency situations, a decision may be made to cancel an Update School. If a school is cancelled due to inclement weather, you may receive an invitation to transfer your registration to a scheduled update school, in person or virtual, based on availability and feasibility. You may also request a refund. Refunds are not issued for inclement weather when Janes Inc., Drake Software Dealer Sales is still able to hold and present the event.

What COVID 19 protocols will be in place?
We value the safety of our customers and employees. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines, along with any state or local guidelines. Seating during the general session will be 2 people per 6 ft. table. You will receive an elevated boxed lunch. If you have not been vaccinated and are planning to attend one of our events in person, we recommend that you wear a mask. If you are ill, we recommend that you do not attend an event in person.

Can I bring my minor child or pet to the school?
No. It is not appropriate to bring children or pets to the school. However, service animals are acceptable at any of the schools.

Are masks required?
We strongly encourage those who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear a mask. If you are unwell on the day of the event, we recommend you stay home.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Credit/debit cards are the only accepted form of payment when registering online, or you can mail in registration with payment to 1914 South S Street Fort Smith, AR 72901 or fax to 479-782-3047

No. If you have any special needs, please let us know.

Proctored group
Choose this option it two or more attendees will be viewing the webinar together from one computer. A group must include a group administrator (the group proctor) and one more proctored attendees (maximum of 10). The group proctor registers himself or herself and each proctored attendee, but only the proctor receives a confirmation email with access to the webinar. (a unique email address must be provided for each attendee registered.) The group proctor accesses the webinar for the group and is awarded continuing education credits based on his or her response to attendance monitoring during the webinar. After the event, the group proctor certifies that the other members of the group were in attendance and the proctored attendees receive an email with their continuing education certificate details. Proctored attendees receive a $20 discount after September 30, 2021 per attendee.
